Two Umbrellas-sold

Oil on canvas, 6" x 6"
The pastel workshop at the East Side Art Center was great fun. Stupid me, I didn't think to take any pictures to post here until after it was all over. Thanks to those who participated (a talented group!) and to the Art Center for hosting us.

Primroses and turquoise vase- sold

Oil on canvas, 16" x 18"
I've been having a hard time painting anything larger than a 6x8 lately, but with this one I feel like I got my groove back.

Lilies in glass brick

Oil on canvas, 12" x 14"
Once in a while I like to buy a new color, so I bought cobalt violet light recently (mostly because it was on Richard Schmid's list). I used some in this painting. It's a lovely color but has NO tinting strength. It virtually disappears when you mix it with anything. I won't be buying it again.

Clementine reflection

Oil on canvas, 6" x 8"
Yet more clementines... Orange isn't my favorite color for a lot of things, like clothing, cars, furmiture- but I love using it in paintings. It just warms everything up.

Citrus in Bowl-sold

Oil on canvas, 6" x 8"
I hate to throw anything away while it still has some use left in it and that includes fruit and flowers in my studio. Citrus inventory: two month-old limes that are now the same size and consistency as golf balls; some month-old clementines that are holding up amazingly well; 2 lemons; and 3 oranges, I can't remember what type, that I bought because they're a soft yellowy-orange, with some greenish-brown patches, much nicer to paint than the bright orange of other fruit.

From a trip to New York last year. These hot dog carts are everywhere.
