Oil, 30" x 40"
Not quite finished, but pretty close. From a recent trip to New York. I'm a sucker for rows of windows where each one is different from the next.

Summer classes:
Portraits in limited color, Tuesday nights, July 10, 17, 24, 31, at the South County Art Association.

Plein air in Warren and Bristol, Wednesday mornings, July 11, 18, 25, August 1, through the Portsmouth Arts Guild.

Summer classes

I'll be teaching a portrait class at the South County Art Association starting July 10 for 4 weeks. It's on Tuesday nights from 6-9 PM. We'll be using a limited color approach, great for beginners, live models 3 of the 4 nights.

I'm also teaching a plein air class in the towns of Warren and Bristol, through the Portsmouth Art Guild. Wednesday mornings, 9-noon, starting July 11.

Breezy- sold

Oil on panel, approx. 8" x 8"
Another one from Allen's Pond. There's a trail that goes along the beach. It was very windy, kicking up  lots of whitecaps, but absolutely beautiful.

Allen's Pond-sold

Oil on panel, approx. 8" x 8"
We went to Mass. Audubon's Allen's Pond Wildlife Sanctuary yesterday to paint. It's a really beautiful place, on the beach, with trails and lots of birds. I definitely plan on going back, with binoculars and a bird book.

Copley Show- sold

I was pleased to find out that my painting "Ann and Otis" was selected for the Copley Society of Art's Summer Members Show. It opens June 14 and is up until August 22, so if you're going to Newbury St. in Boston this summer, stop in.

Model A

Oil on panel, 6" x 8"
I really loved this car. Besides the picnic baskets on each running board, there were bud vases on either side of the back window, which had a tasseled shade. Very sweet.

'52 Chevy

This car has been sitting on a lot not far from my house for a number of years, and I've been wanting to paint it since I first saw it.

Fins and fenders- sold

Oil on canvas panel, 6" x 8", $150.00
This one would turn anyone's head, wouldn't it? It's a Thunderbird, I'm fairly certain a 1956. I just heard recently that the French don't drive red cars because they attract too much attention to oneself, and that's not cool. True or not? Let me know.

Antique cars

Last Saturday we realized it's that time of year again, when the owners of antique cars come hang out for a few hours at the carousel in Riverside. Open up the hood and groove on doo-wop music! It's fun looking at these classics, and I decided I had to paint a few. This is a 1955 Chevy BelAir.
6"x8", oil on board.
$150.00 plus $8.00 shipping

Ruth

Usually when I'm teaching a portrait class, I do a 20 minute demo and then spend the rest of the time helping my students. I so wanted to paint this model that I found minutes here and there to keep working on this. Could be better, but I like it.
