Brewster General Store- sold
Oil, 8" x 10"
I painted on Cape Cod the other day with two good friends. The General Store in Brewster was a fun subject and we had a great spot in the shade across the street. If I painted this realistically, the bottom would have been all cars and trucks. Traffic on the Cape in the summer!

After waking up early and seeing the blue moon going down, I decided I'd paint it from memory the next morning.

Painting at Coggeshall Farm
We had a good time painting at historic Coggeshall Farm in Bristol RI on Wednesday afternoon. It was hot, but we were in the shade and had a nice breeze. One of the costumed interpreters modeled for us.
I'm cheating here, I didn't like the paintings that I did of our models so I'm posting a little painting I did from photos later of two of the farm people taking a lunch break, with the resident cat.
Oil, 6" x 6"
I thought everyone else did a great job on their paintings and drawings of the model. Thanks to Jill, Janice and Suzanne for giving me photos of their work.

Seaside garden- sold
Pink hollyhocks, blue water and sky- couldn't resist. These are little paintings but I'm tempted to paint them really big.

Red Hollyhocks- sold
Oil, 6" x 6"
I found these hollyhocks in the afternoon sun at a public garden not far from home and knew I'd be painting them. Luscious color, beautiful light...

Colors of the Azores
Oil, 8" x 8"
I recently got back from a trip to the Azores. Didn't do much drawing or painting while I was there, unfortunately- too busy sightseeing. I did this from a photo when I got back. It's a colorful place- you wouldn't see bright orange houses or white houses with lime green trim in New England, but there it just looks right.Email me for price.

Rock and rose- sold
Oil, 6" x 6"
Painted the other morning at Westport Town Beach/ Allens Pond Audubon Preserve, MA. The soft hazy light and sparkles on the water were really appealing.

Westie-sold
Oil, 6" x 6"
I met this little guy when I was out painting one day last week. Who could resist such a cute face? He's much more interesting than the landscape I painted...
