Fort Wetherill morning-sold

Oil on panel, 8" x 10"
Same spot, about 90 minutes later. The brown area in the front is the tops of trees. I tried painting some skinny trunks and branches but they looked really clunky, so I ended up using my palette knife to scrape/ blend them and realized the scratchy texture of the knife on the panel was perfect.

  3. I love how you pare the scene down to such beautiful, seemingly simple strokes. Very nice!
