Oil on canvas, 16" x 20"
I've been wanting to paint this for a while. These are some students of mine at a plein air class a few years ago. No shabby painting duds for them!
This will be in my show next month in Philadelphia.
I commented about this on DPW...but it deserves at least another. I'm really blown away by how you took what was obviously (from your blog notes) was from a photo and made it seem plein air. You did the same thing with the trolley painting. In both the figures seem so real, unstiff, moving, natural. I can't wait to see more.... (No pressure. : ))
This is such a cheerful painting. I like it all, and I enjoy seeing the "gear" included like boxes, bags, etc. Takes the viewer right there with those ladies.
I love this so much for so many reasons!!!

ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm so glad you think the figures have some life to them. I really did enjoy painting this one.

ReplyDeleteI can almost hear the quiet, and feel a slight breeze.
