These apples and blue bucket were among a number of props I brought the other day to teach a drawing class, and after looking at them for the whole afternoon, all I could think was that I wanted to buy some daisies, plop them in the bucket, and do a little painting. So I did.

Winter is here in the northeast with a vengeance; sleet, snow, and sub-freezing temps. So no wonder I want to do paintings of people sitting in outdoor cafes. Dreams of summer, or maybe winter in a warmer climate... I'll be giving away a painting at the end of the month to a subscriber, so sign up now.

I realized that I should mention that the painting to be given away at the end of the month to a subscriber will be a 6" x 6" or 6" x 8", not one of my larger pieces. Also, if you choose to subscribe, please be sure to click on the email you receive after you subscribe. This is necessary to confirm the subscription. If you don't get the email right away, check your spam folder.

I spotted these dogs with their owner on the beach last September when I was on Cape Cod for a week. I don't know if dogs are normally allowed on the beach, I suspect not, but there were definitely a lot of people enjoying the post-season sun that day with their canine friends.
I'm giving away a painting at the end of the month to a subscriber, so if you'd like a chance to win, subscribe now. Your email address is absolutely safe with me.

The month of December was not a very good one for painting and posting small pieces. I've been working a lot, just not on anything I wanted to post here. I do hope to remedy that, now that life has somewhat returned to normal.
This is a view of Providence when you're on Rt. 195W.

Also, my best wishes for the New Year to all!
