Green apple-sold

Oil on canvasboard, 6" x 6"
Bonjour mes amis! Canada was wonderful, but it is good to be back. It's taken me a few days to get my head back into painting. I took some apples plus branches off a friend's tree, because I knew when I saw them I had to paint them. There is a tinge of sadness, though, in seeing apples ripening on a tree because it means summer is ending.

Amazing that you do this ever time with such aplomb. This is beautiful and the light reads spot on. The reflections off the leaves, The lost edge on the upper size of the apple. Just too good. I'll stop babbling.

This piece has a very nostalgic feeling, like an old photograph. And it reminds me of those old master's still life paintings.
