Garden at Roger Williams Park

I'd been wanting to paint this statue and garden in front of the Roger Williams Park Casino in Providence and finally got to do it this past weekend.

Nice visual tension between the strong verticle and equally strong foreground. I'm thinking it's not unlike what VanGogh's did with cypress trees.
