Oil on canvas, 8" x 6"
I've been looking at a lot of David Leffel and Greg Kreutz lately, very classical, traditional painting. To paraphrase Bill Clinton, "It's the LIGHT, stupid". Or, that's what I tell myself.
You did capture the light - even in the reflections! It's a beautiful painting with colors and composition that pull that light in. Also - love your Clinton comment! :-)
this is very intriguing. seems dumb saying but you know what i mean.... the shadow being on a good portion of the the creamer(?) really makes the part in the light really look like its in the light. boy that sounded dumber than i thought it would, but says it all.ive heard it said a million ways. there is no light without its opposite, the shadows. love this best!
Mike, you really MUST learn the difference between a casserole dish and a creamer (hint: a creamer has a spout). Just kidding! I appreciate the comments.
