Painting in Bristol

I'm teaching a class through the Portsmouth Arts Guild on Fridays this month, and my intrepid little group met yesterday for the first time. We're painting on the streets of the historic little town of Bristol, RI, and we managed to find a shady area at Independence Park to set up and work on black and white value studies. NOBODY wants to paint in black and white, but in the end they all agreed it was a very helpful lesson. Next week, color, I promise!

I've always been told to enjoy the journey as much as the destination. The value studies are a part of the journey! Bristol looks like a lovely town to paint.
