Oil on canvas, 12" x 16"
I've been laid low by a nasty cold this week, and still have Christmas commissions to finish, so I decided to post some of my favorite paintings from the past. Everyone commented on the lace on this one, but it was painting the white carnations that was REALLY difficult. Painting lace is actually quite easy. You just need a very fine brush and a steady hand.

Nothing about that painting looks easy. Kathy, it is truly beautiful! You are the master!
Hope you are feeling better.
Happy Holidays
Always love your still life paintings. This one is warm and rich and a delight to look at.
Feel better soon!
Thanks, Carol and Catherine.
It is a masterpiece..words fail to describe it!
Both lace and carnations are beautiful. A lovely painting.
This is one of my favorites....love the brushwork on the carnations - which is very difficult to accomplish - Kudos! Fine details are much easier for me to do. HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

Right, Kathy... and a huge amount of skill and talent!!! I hope you feel better. My painting on DPO today looks like a coloring book compared to yours!
Love this painting. It sings. I thought I knew the wallpaper. Just a perfect piece!
In a former life I was a florist... As soon as I saw your painting today on our DPO site I thought, WOW those are fantastic carnations!
Of course the whole painting is lovely, but it was your carns that caught my eye.

I'm glad you posted this! I was absolutely taken with the skill involved in painting those carnations.
The other day I was looking for some good carnation paintings but couldn't fing anything I liked, and a few days later you have uploaded this fabulous painting. I am so impressed and so glad to find a great example. Thank you.
