One rose-sold


Oil on canvas, 6" x 6"
Roses are difficult to paint but I love them- particularly the strong reds and pinks that define the center. This one actually took several hours to paint because I'd get caught up in trying to paint the petals and realize when I stepped back that I'd lost the big light/dark value pattern. It got scraped down several times.

I think you have invented new colors to paint the inside of that glowing flower! this is beautiful.
