Daylilies at Larisa Park-sold

Gouache on paper, 6" x 8"
I've fallen back in love with gouache. It's really nice to work outdoors with something that dries immediately, is opaque, and uses water instead of turp or mineral spirits. It's so easy to make changes, I don't know why it's not more popular.

It's been a while since I used it and I can't remember, does it dry a few shades lighter? That drives me crazy, but I guess you probably learn to anticipate it--judging by your piece, you've done it very well!

It does dry lighter, which can make you crazy. I guess that's why it's not more popular. You do kind of get used to it, though.

i cant remember...does it come in the same colors as oil paint like cadmium yellow light etc?
i used to use it (a long time ago)to do mockups on commissioned illustrations. it dried quick... i was always working on stuff on the day they were due. huge procrastinator
you use the stuff well!

Thanks Mike. As far as I know, the pigments are the same as those used in oils.
