Oil on panel, 8" x 10"
Rhode Island plein air painters got excited hearing that hurricane Bill was coming up the coast because it means BIG WAVES AT BEAVERTAIL! I finally got there yesterday, after the storm passed, but the waves were still pretty large, and we had a great time painting.
For those not familiar with Rhode Island, Beavertail Point is at the southern tip of Conanicut Island in Narragansett Bay, RI. It faces the ocean and if there's a storm coming up the coast, it's the place to see big surf hitting rocks.
Jon McPhilips painted there on Sunday and posted a great little video on his blog if you want to watch.

Awesome Kathy......and thanks for the map, I will have to go try that place out. I almost went down to Newport but the water looked really flat up here, darn it!
Patty- can't believe you've never been to Beavertail. We'll have to meet there to paint sometime son.
I went today!!!! we will for sure, I loved it and there were even bathrooms.
