Mums and seckel pears

Oil on canvas, 16" x 16"
Well , the holidays really have a way of interfering with normal everyday life. Most of the time I'm pretty disciplined about working, but once in a while I just can't face going into the studio just to paint a few tedious details to finish a painting. I think this one is done, although the photo could be better.

Lovely painting with such a nice subtle sense of light. I see that quite a few art bloggers have backgrounds as illustrators-it seems to make a strong foundation for fine art!

Thanks, and yes, Judy, I think you're right. I learned a lot working as an illustrator, it was very good training.
