The pink scarf- sold

Oil on linen, 6" x 6"
I loved the pink scarf and the big hoop earring on this girl. The background had a lot more going on  but I wanted to keep it simple.  Does the pink shape carry too much weight in that corner?

It works, in my opinion. Great painting.

I think the pink scarf makes one third of an interesting compositional triangle with the ladder-back chair and the ceiling lights. Three different elements holding equal visual weight, bravo!

I love this Kathy, she is full of BRIGHT hope, all pink and golden, and he is a bit sullen and not interested, she is looking at him- he is looking away....(I wonder what happened to this couple!)- she even wore her best hoop ear-ings!!!
