Peonies and peaches

Oil on canvas, 6" x 8"
The peonies bloom for such a short amount of time, and every year I try to get at least one painting of them. Painting white flowers never seems to get easier. It's always a struggle mixing the right values and colors to define the shape. This is a study for a larger piece.

I love this one! I know what you mean about white flowers, you really can't take any creative liberties.
Everything has to spot on, I think you did a fine job.

P.S. The plate is quite amazingly done. Simple strokes, but so definitive.
