Beach roses

Oil on panel, 8" x 10"
Ann and I went to Jamestown again this past Tuesday, this time to Fort Getty, which is more of a campground than a park. The gentleman at the guard house didn't charge us when we told him we just wanted to paint and would only be there a couple of hours. The beach roses on the dunes are in full bloom, it was quite lovely, even though it did rain a bit while I was painting this, and several busloads of schoolkids were there doing science lessons on the beach.
