Grapes on plates

Oil on canvas, 12" x 12"
I usually paint still lifes during the day, using natural light. I love the softness of that light but it can be very frustrating, since I don't have a north-facing window and the light changes constantly. Sometimes, as right now, the skylight is covered with snow so it's quite dark even during the day. I did this painting at night with artificial light. I think I may be doing that more often.

Great one, Kathy. It sure is nice to be able to have some control over the light!
