Seagulls' roost

Oil on panel, 8" x 10"
A second painting from the day at Black Point. This rock in the center was actually covered with seagulls. Despite an abundance of rocks, it seemed to be the only one they liked. I thought about trying to paint some of them... maybe next time.

Great painting...you can feel the freshness of the air, and that sailboat in the background looks just "right". You know its there, heeled over from the wind, but it doesn't drag your eye away from the focal point. You seem to really know your subject.
